Scaffolding surrounds three sides of the house, ready for the roof to be renewed, a huge delivery of plumbing materials now fills the cellar and the only way to get the new internal staircase in was via serious manpower through a window on the top floor at the back of the house!
Internally, a lot of the walls have been taken right back to bare granite, exposing some beautifully dressed stonework and features from the original house. Many of the walls on the upper two floors have had their final finish of plaster and are ready to be decorated. Much to Melanie’s amazement in some places the plaster was put up by a man on stilts!
